Stephen Welsh 6 Finding a back-up option to first-choice pairing Cameron Burgess and Ben Cabango was always going to be an important area to address this summer. Welsh is understood to have impressed during pre-season, but it seems likely he will remain as cover rather than as a regular starter. Given the 26-year-old arrived on a free transfer, it's a deal that appears low-risk enough to make a fair amount of sense.

Moussa Yeo 6 Strengthening the options out wide was a key priority for Matos this summer, and the Malian is a figure he some history with due to their time together at RB Salzburg. Yeo has similarly shown some promise in pre-season, but does look a little raw. The concern will clearly be his lack of experience in the Championship, but he does, if nothing else, offer some much-needed competition in the wide areas. Could well end up being a key player, but for now the jury's still out.

Joseph Opoku 7 Another who's something of an unknown at this level, but has nevertheless shown some promise in pre-season. In the game against Leganes, he showed a useful level of versatility. Indeed, he can play all across the front three, which will be a welcome boost for Matos and his attacking options for the new season. Took a his goal well too, and there were good moments for him on the press.

Elijah Just 7 Already looks a really good capture. Netted his first goal in the win over Udinese out in Austria, and should have probably had another against Leganes. Can play in the middle or out on the right, he looks like the sort of player who can inject a nice level of energy to the number eight/10 position. Clearly has a good level of technical ability too.

__Outs

Joel Ward 7 A superb professional, but there was little in his short time with the Swans to suggest a new deal was on the cards. For that reason, it was slightly surprising to see them claim to be in talks over a new contract at the end of the season. Matos has since confirmed he won't be coming back, and frankly it feels the right decision for all involved.

Ricardo Santos 8 Was little chance of him really breaking into the first-team set-up. Signed as a back-up anyway, he made just one appearance for the Swans. Clearly wasn't in Matos' first-team plans. Best for all parties he moved on.

Ethan Galbraith 7 Matos would have surely wanted to keep the Northern Irishman on board following a hugely impressive opening season in the Championship last term. However, with talks over a new deal stalling, the club were clearly attracted by the chance to make a tidy profit this summer. His sale has surely formed the foundation on which to bring others in this window.

Liam Cullen 8 Cullen's been a tremendous servant to the Swans, but with competition seemingly increasing in all of his prospective positions, the time was maybe right for a new chapter. Should do well in League One, and the Swans have made a solid seven-figure sum.

Sam Parker 8 There was initially some hope he might be in line for a big role this season following a promising run of games towards the end of last term. However, the club clearly decided he wasn't going to get the game-time needed to further his development by staying put. Going out to play regularly could do wonders for him, as we've seen with Filip Lissah.

Cameron Congreve 8 Similar story to Cullen. Will certainly be some disappointment that a promising prospect has gone, but a seven-figure fee for a player who has only got 15 league games to his name isn't bad business. There's also a clause in the deal that could potentially see him return too. A deal that makes a lot of sense.
