Swansea City midfielder Ethan Galbraith has responded to growing transfer speculation linking him with a move to Wrexham, admitting it is nice to see interest in his services. The Northern Ireland international has emerged as one of Swansea's standout performers since arriving from Leyton Orient last year and is attracting attention ahead of the transfer window. Galbraith still has two years remaining on his current deal at the Swansea.com Stadium, with the club also holding the option of a further 12 months, but negotiations over improved terms have yet to reach a breakthrough. And with Wrexham monitoring his situation, Galbraith's focus remains on international duty with Northern Ireland. He is currently away on international duty after recovering from the calf injury that ended his Championship season in March. Speaking ahead of friendlies against Guinea and France, Galbraith was asked about speculation linking him with a move away from Swansea, including reported interest from Wrexham and Premier League clubs. But Galbraith says he will just try and focus on Swansea. The midfielder also offered an encouraging update on the calf problem that forced him to miss the final weeks of the campaign. Swansea head coach Vitor Matos had previously suggested he would prefer Galbraith to sit out Northern Ireland's summer fixtures in order to fully recover, but the player says he has been given the green light to return. Galbraith enjoyed an impressive first season at Swansea, featuring both in midfield and at right-back, and his performances have made him one of the club's most valuable assets heading into the summer. So the club remains determined to retain him and are expected to continue discussions over a new contract, despite an initial offer having been rejected by the player's representatives. For now, though, Galbraith's focus is on the upcoming friendlies and then the new Championship campaign with Swansea City.
