Swansea City has achieved a top-three ranking in the Think Fan Engagement Index for the 2025-26 campaign, scoring 210 out of a possible 240. The club’s performance marks an improvement from the previous season, with a notable increase in transparency scores.

How Swansea City scored in the index

The Think Fan Engagement Index evaluates clubs across three key areas: dialogue, governance, and transparency. Swansea City scored a perfect 80 in dialogue, maintained a score of 65 in governance, and improved its transparency score by 5 points to reach 65. This overall score of 210 earned the club a Silver Award and placed it third among 116 men’s football clubs in the top five divisions of the English football pyramid.

The index is independently assessed by experts, including Kevin Rye, a leading figure in fan engagement. The assessment is based on research conducted by assessors, with transparency being a critical factor in the scoring.

The role of the Swansea City Supporters' Trust

The Swansea City Supporters' Trust plays a significant role in the club’s fan engagement efforts. The Trust has two permanent positions on the Club Board and meets regularly with CEO Tom Gorringe and senior management. This collaboration is part of the ongoing efforts to establish a Supporter Advisory Board, with the Trust expressing hopes for further improvements in fan engagement next year.

Tom Gorringe, Swansea City CEO, commented on the achievement: "We are really pleased to see the results of the Fan Engagement Index and to have achieved a score of 210 and the Silver Award."

The Swansea City Supporters' Trust also highlighted their involvement: "The Trust continues to be part of the engagement process on a wide variety of issues that directly impacts our members and supporters."

Swansea City's recent performance

Swansea City finished the 2025 season in 11th place in the Championship, with 64 points from 46 games. The team scored 57 goals and conceded 59, resulting in a -2 goal difference. Their recent form includes a 2-game winning run, with their last result being a 3-1 victory over Charlton on May 2, 2026. The team is currently preparing for their next fixture against Burnley at home on September 12, 2026. However, they will be without Cameron Burgess and Gonçalo Franco due to injuries.

What this means for Swansea City

The top-three ranking in the Think Fan Engagement Index reflects Swansea City’s commitment to engaging with its supporters. The club’s efforts in dialogue, governance, and transparency have been recognized, and the involvement of the Supporters' Trust is a key factor in this success. As the club looks ahead to the new season, the focus on fan engagement is expected to continue, with the Trust playing a key role in shaping future initiatives.
