Swansea City's summer transfer window has been boosted by exciting signings, but the club has been snubbed by a midfield target after agreeing a £5.2m deal. Andre Almeida, a 26-year-old attacking midfielder, has turned down the move to play in the Championship.

Swansea City already have a good amount of depth in the attacking midfield position. They have already signed Elijah Just this season, who can play as an attacking midfielder. Just is a very strong option for the position after impressing for Motherwell in Scotland for the New Zealand national team in the FIFA World Cup. The Swans also have Leo Walta in that area. Although the Finn midfielder only played 10 times last season, he is backed to kick on with Matos after becoming a permanent player earlier this window. Just will be backed to become a key player for Swansea City next term, so with Walta as cover and competition, another number 10 is not really required. The money they would have spent on Almeida can be reinvested into other areas of the squad.
