Bobby Wales has gone back to Swansea City from his temporary move to Dundee due to an ankle problem.

The young forward picked up the issue while playing for his country's Under-21 team. He moved to the Scottish club on loan earlier this season and played a handful of games before getting hurt. During his time there, he found the net once in his limited league minutes.

Medical assessment underway

Wales is now being checked by Swansea's medical team. Dundee manager Steven Pressley confirmed the player is back in Wales and requires a specialist consultation.

"He's down at Swansea, but they want him to see a certain specialist, and that should take place next Wednesday," Pressley said.

The injury occurs while Swansea City are leading their league. They have a narrow advantage at the top. The team is performing well recently, with several positive results from their latest matches. Their upcoming game is an important one at home against a team near the top of the table.

Wales's return for assessment puts his short-term playing status in question as the season progresses positively for his club. The seriousness of the injury and how long he will be out will be known after he sees the specialist next Wednesday.
